　　今天早上，收到了來自托福官方的郵件，通知考生上禮拜的考試成績已經出爐，可以上官網去查詢成績了。這次考試，是我托福的第二次考試，希望這次考試結果能令人滿意，如此方能全心投入申請資料的準備工作裡。　　申請頂尖國外大學，托福成績絕對是重要的一環，甚至可以說是只排在學校成績和讀書計畫後面，而我鎖定的幾間學校中，在申請問與答裡都多多少少暗示著，最好托福成績能有一百分以上，因為這樣，在考完第一次托福只拿到九十分的成績後，不得不再接再厲，繼續考托福刷成績。

　　考試前：

　　繼上個月考完 TOEFL 後，下一步便是接著考 GRE，等到把留學申請中所需的兩大考試給考完以後，再來專心寫讀書計畫和個人履歷。　　這篇文章的寫作目的，與上一篇的TOEFL初試心得相同，主要都是為了紀錄版主自己在考試前後，以及在收到成績單時，對這項考試的準備心得與自我審視，希望能藉此加深自己對GRE考試的理解。

　　考試前：　　原本考試日期訂在九月初，不過在今年公司家庭日時間宣布以後，才赫然發現兩者剛好撞期，考慮到難得有全家出遊的機會，幾經權衡之下，最後便還是登入到 ETS 官方網站，多支付 50 元美金，申請延期到九月中再進行考試。儘管比原先預期的多了兩個禮拜能夠準備考試，但老實說，其實幫助並不大，畢竟，英文能力並不是在短時間內可以提升得上來的，只能多讀多少是多少了。在GRE考試裡三大分類中，作文、語文、數學，總的來說，數學是最有把握的部分，而語文幾乎處於放棄的狀態，至於作文，則是這段期間裡，有特別下功夫去研讀與準備的部分。　　首先，先來討論語文。GRE 的單字，是名聞遐邇的艱澀，就我所知大家在準備這項考試時，幾乎都是從這點下手，像是坊間很有名的紅寶書，便是一本列舉常見單字的聖經。由於準備的時間太短，幾乎沒背到什麼單字，因此這部分在做過幾輪模擬考，崩潰了幾次以後，就一直是處於一種半放棄的狀態，到時候這部分只好用猜的了，這種沒把握的感覺還真是抖阿。

　　這陣子在準備托福上，前前後後花了不少心思，儘管最後的成績不太理想，但至少也算跨出了第一步，故撰文以紀之。　　這篇文章，主要是針對版主自己應考前後的狀況，做了些對成績上的評估，從考前預測九十，到考後只剩下八十，最後再到成績出爐時的九十，真是經歷了一場三溫暖。我相信，如果能看清自己的長短處，並且對成績有精確地評估，如此方能對症下藥，在下次考試中百尺竿頭更進一步。另外，這篇網誌裡也記載了當天應考時的點點滴滴，大家也可以參考看看。

　　考試前：　　作為英語能力評量的托福考試，總共可分成閱讀、聽力、口說和寫作四大部分。在準備考試的這段期間裡，從五月初開始翻閱並詳讀官方手冊，然後六月中開始上補習班練習口說和寫作，再到七月中開始做網路上的擬真試題，截至目前為止，也算是對自己在托福考試中的英語能力，多多少少有了一點了解，如果心中有了底，也不會對未來太過茫然。 

　　In this article, I’m going to summarize what the official guide talks about according to the book, “The Official Guide to the TOEFL Test,” the fourth edition. Today we will focus on speaking section.　　The TOEFL iBT Speaking section is designed to evaluate the English speaking proficiency of students whose native language is not English but who want to pursue undergraduate or graduate study in an English-speaking context. 　　In the Speaking section you will be asked to speak on a variety of topics that draw on personal experience, campus-based situations, and academic-type content material. There are six questions. The first two questions are called Independent Speaking tasks because they require you to draw entirely on your own ideas, opinions, and experiences when responding. The other four questions are Integrated Speaking tasks. In such tasks, you will listen to a conversation or to an excerpt from a lecture, or read a passage and then listen to a brief discussion or lecture excerpt, before you are asked the question. This form of test can be summarized as following table.

　　In this article, I’m going to share what I have learned from this book, “The Official Guide to the TOEFL Test,” the fourth edition. This time we will finish the remaining of writing task, integrated writing.　　There are two tasks in the Writing section of the TOEFL iBT test. an Integrated Writing task and an Independent Writing task. The integrated writing task comes first and is considered as “integrated” because it requires some listening skill before writing. 　　This task gives you opportunity to show that you can communicate in writing about academic information you have read and listened to. The specific steps you will take are:　　1. You will read a passage about an academic topic for 3 minutes.　　2. You will hear a short lecture related to the topic.　　3. You will be asked to summarize the points in the lecture and explain

　　In this article, I’m going to share some test information of GRE based on  “The Official Guide to the GRE revised General Test,” 2nd edition. today, we will talk about quantitative reasoning.
　　The Quantitative Reasoning measure of the GRE revised General Test accesses your basic mathematical  skills, understanding of elementary mathematical concepts and ability to reason quantitatively and to model and solve problems with quantitative methods. Many of the questions are word problems, which must be translated and modeled mathematically.

　　In this article, again, I’d like to share what I have learned from this book, “The Official Guide to the TOEFL Test,” the fourth edition. This time we will talk about listening section.
　　In the TOEFL iBT Listening section, you will listen to several lectures and conversations in allotted time, usually 60-90 minutes. Both are based on the actual speech that is used in North American colleges and universities. Therefore, a professor giving a lecture may digress somewhat from the main topic, interactions between students and the professor can be extensive, and explanations of content can be elaborate.

　　In this article, I’m continuing to share what I have learned from this book, “The Official Guide to the TOEFL Test,” the fourth edition. This time we will talk about independent writing.
　　As mentioned before, the TOEFL iBT test contains four parts: Reading, Listening, Speaking and Writing. In the writing section, there are two tasks: an Integrated Writing task and an Independent Writing task. The integrated Writing task comes first and requires some listening. Later the test-taker will work on the Independent Writing task.

　　In this article, I’ll share the test information of GRE with you based on the book, “The Official Guide to the GRE revised General Test,” 2nd edition.
　　The GRE revised General Test is the most widely accepted graduate admissions test worldwide, which measures verbal reasoning, quantitative reasoning, critical thinking, and analytical writing skills that are necessary for success in graduate and business school.

　　In this article, I’m going to share what I have learned and taken notes from this book, “The Official Guide to the TOEFL Test,” the fourth edition.
　　The reason why we need to take the TOEFL iBT test is that it’s crucial for test taker to be eligible for admission to virtually any institution in the world, including the top colleges and universities. Anyone who want to study abroad must prepare and take this examination before application of the school.
